How the score is calculated

Journey Quality (45%) measures effective travel time to every other suburb in Brisbane / QLD during the morning peak (8:30am Tuesday), applying a 10-minute penalty per transfer and a 5-minute penalty per bus leg. Cost Efficiency (25%) calculates actual Translink fares for the CBD journey, multiplied by 10 trips per week, dividing weekly cost by weekly commuting hours.
