How the score is calculated
The gettinthr score combines three weighted components. Journey Quality (45%) measures effective travel time to every other suburb in Darwin during the morning peak (8:30am Tuesday), applying a 10-minute penalty per transfer and a 5-minute penalty per bus leg. Cost Efficiency (25%) calculates actual Darwin Bus fares for the CBD journey, multiplied by 10 trips per week, dividing weekly cost by weekly commuting hours. Connectivity (30%) measures what percentage of all Darwin suburbs you can reach within 60 minutes by public transport. All scores are normalised across all 83 Darwin suburbs into a composite out of 100.
