How the score is calculated
The gettinthr score combines three equally weighted components. Journey Quality (45%) measures effective travel time to key destinations across Sydney, penalising long trips and excessive waiting time. Cost Efficiency (30%) estimates weekly commuting costs using actual fare data and caps at the Opal weekly maximum. Connectivity (25%) counts how many of Sydney's suburbs are reachable within a reasonable time, weighted by the number of transfers required — direct connections score higher than journeys requiring multiple changes.
